Muvelo | A Story of Purpose, Modularity, and Movement

“This wasn’t just about lamps. It was about learning everything, wall panels, furniture, lights, beds, even the space itself. That’s why Muvelo exists.”

- Chirag Nibjiya, Founder

At the heart of Muvèlo is a simple idea: design should move.

Before Muvèlo, we had explored product design under the name NIBS Movables, but when the trademark fell through, it opened up space for something larger, and more intentional. That’s when we found the name Muvèlo, drawn from Italian and Spanish roots meaning “move it”, a name that reflects not just our design philosophy, but our way of working.

Together, my wife and I run NIBS Studio. She leads the architecture and interior design, while I drive product and spatial innovation, but in truth, we’re constantly collaborating across both. I contribute to the architecture side; she’s deeply involved in every product we shape. It’s a dynamic exchange, a partnership where design flows in both directions.

Muvèlo is a natural extension of this rhythm, built to design every object that lives inside the spaces we imagine together.

It Didn’t Start With a Lamp

Muvèlo wasn’t born from one idea. It came from a need, to design everything, from furniture to lights, for a dream project: our own future resort.

We had already explored material design, architectural form, and wall panel systems. The next frontier was lighting. Not just any kind of lighting, but something adaptable, modular, and meaningful. Something people could move across their home, their work, or even a celebration.

That was the beginning of our first product, the Vaari Light.

Building a System, Not a Product

“From the start, I knew what I wanted ; a modular system: one light module, multiple bodies, interchangeable lampshades.”

Vaari was never a single product. It was a platform.

It was built around three simple components:

  • A central light module : rechargeable, portable, and precisely engineered.
  • A variety of bodies : to match different aesthetics, occasions, or functions.
  • Lampshades : designed for mood, material play, and easy swaps.

The name Vaari comes from “variable”, a reflection of its reconfigurable core. Instead of buying multiple lights, you invest in one system and adapt it.

This approach was powered by something we’ve worked with for years, 3D printing. But not just basic printing. We’ve developed our own internal structure systems, finishes, and formats that go far beyond what’s commonly seen in the Indian market.

The Power of Color, and the People Who Believe

The first prototype wasn’t made in a factory.

It was printed in our studio. And the first reaction came from home.

“My wife loved it. She helped choose the colors. That’s where the collection really started, from real feedback, not a market survey.”

The palette became soft, joyful, and modern:

  • Rose Pink
  • Butter Yellow
  • Light Blue
  • Amber White

Each designed to fit in different environments, not overpower, just belong.

Rejection, Footwork, and the Glow That Followed

Early on, I didn’t wait for leads to come in.

I walked into cafés and restaurants myself, carrying the light in hand.

Every time I lit it up, it drew attention.

Chefs paused. Customers asked questions. Staff gathered around.

“They all loved it. But most said no.”

For months, it was rejection after rejection, even when the response was positive.

Still, I kept showing up. One day, a stranger believed in it. Then another.

And the glow began to spread.

There were, and still are, moments of doubt.

But that’s part of the journey. If anything, it’s a sign that we care.

Why Muvelo Matters

Muvèlo is not just a home decor brand.

It’s a design ecosystem in motion, born from our real-world need to design every piece in a space, and refined through collaboration, material understanding, and ergonomic thinking.

Our design principles are simple:

  • Designed to move.
  • Built to last.
  • Modular, not wasteful.
  • Aesthetic, yet functional.
  • Made in India. Meant to belong.

Whether it's for homes, workspaces, weddings, or cafés, our goal is to offer objects that adapt. Products that change form with you. Lights that shift with your lifestyle. And systems that grow over time, not get replaced.

Final Note

We’re still building.
We’re still learning.

But if you’ve ever looked at a piece of decor and thought, "Why can’t this do more?”; then maybe you already understand why Muvelo exists.

Muvèlo. Designed to Move.
