PLA Bioplastic Lamps: Material, Texture and Care

PLA Bioplastic Lamps: Material, Texture and Care

PLA bioplastic lamps have a different surface language from glass, metal or moulded plastic. In Ruvaa Mono, the material is expressed through repeated ribs that create depth, catch shadow and filter the visible glow. Understanding the material also means respecting its care limits.

What PLA bioplastic is

PLA is a polymer commonly made from renewable plant-based feedstocks. Calling it bioplastic describes its origin category, but it should not be treated as permission to discard the product casually.

A finished electrical object contains more than one material and needs responsible long-term use and disposal. Durability, repair and product life still matter.

Why the ribbed texture is visible

Ruvaa Mono does not try to imitate polished glass or metal. The surface is built as a regular ribbed form, giving the lamp a tactile and architectural character.

When switched off, the ribs hold daylight and shadow. When switched on, they influence how the warm light appears across the coloured body.

How to clean a PLA bioplastic lamp

Use a soft dry cloth for routine dust. If needed, use a slightly damp cloth and dry the surface afterward. Do not apply abrasive powder, strong solvent or a rough scrub pad.

Keep moisture away from the touch control and USB-C charging port. Never immerse the lamp or rinse it under running water.

Protect the lamp from heat

Do not place PLA bioplastic beside a stove, heater, flame, hot serving vessel or in a car under direct sun. Avoid storing the lamp on a balcony that receives strong afternoon heat.

Ruvaa Mono uses a low-power 1W LED, but external heat sources remain a separate risk to the body and battery.

Use the product for a long time

The better sustainability habit is to choose carefully, use the object often and care for it. Ruvaa Mono's simple on and off control and rechargeable system are intended to support regular use without unnecessary modes.

If you have a care or service question, contact Muvèlo directly instead of experimenting with cleaners or electrical parts.
